A performance with puppet / Schaubude Berlin
A father who runs away – that's something familiar. A father who, in running away, crosses borders between countries and systems is rarer. A father who flees from the East to the West and cannot admit, cannot reveal his lifelong coming out as a gay man to his daughter left behind in the GDR, is the theme of queer Papa queer. The piece is a biographical exploration with objects, documents, and puppets, and at the same time, it is a journey through the lives of homosexual men in the GDR and the no-man's-land between systems.
A piece about fear, courage, joy of life, and repression. Also a journey through one's own uncertainties.

Einen Vater, der abhaut - das kennt man. Ein Vater, der beim Abhauen Länder- und Systemgrenzen überwindet ist schon seltener.
Ein Vater, der vom Osten in den Westen flüchtet und seiner in der DDR zurück gelassenen Tochter sein ganzes Leben lang sein Coming Out als schwuler Mann nicht eingestehen will, nicht offenbaren kann, ist Thema von queer Papa queer.
Das Stück ist eine biografische Recherche mit Objekten, Dokumenten und Puppen und zugleich eine Zeitreise in die Lebenswelt homosexueller Männer in der DDR und dem Niemandsland zwischen den Systemen.
Ein Stück über Angst, Mut, Lebensfreude und Repression. Ein Parcours auch über die eigenen Unsicherheiten.
